lyrics
are you friend or foe?
see i've really gotta know
friend i'll meet you at the river bend
foe must walk down that road alone
stars are burning / stars they fall
stars aren't even stars at all
in the city / in the street
going to the place we used to meet
baby you smoke yours / i'll smoke mine
in my heart there's no denying
it's your company that i keep
at the bend where the water runs deep
back to the city where the rain falls hard
you'll be strumming on your old guitar
you won't be found if you ain't lost
but i found my baby in Holy Cross
i think i found a brand new day / now i'm really on my way
friend or foe baby tell me straight / we'll be walking to the pearly gates
canyon deep / mountain wide
you and me baby side by side
desert sky and the air so clear
we are far from the city out here
the river's got rhythm and it sings aloud
here it calling out its river sound
lightning flash and i feel the fire
i am searching for my heart's desire
i am ready for my heart's desire
i think i found a brand new day
now i'm really on my way
friend or foe / baby tell me straight
we'll be dancing to the pearly gates
Floating on the carpet of lyrics, rhythm and sound. Hunting pedal steel and a wonderful pure voice. Thank you Kiki! And thanks to Gill Landry, for mentioning your name.
